| Our
philosophy is simple.... |
|
1st...We
buy the best breeding we can find. Think of it like this... if you
want to win a drag race, do you want a VW under the hood or a Porshe?
It is the same with barrel horses. Starting with a great pedigree
is the first critical step. We buy a lot of horses that have run
on the track, but not all super barrel horses have a Speed Index.

2nd...We
then look for pretty horses with good conformation. You are investing
your money in a horse that should get the job done, with minimal side
effort. Poor conformation can lead to numerous problems down the road.
Plus, when looking to resell a horse, conformation is critical. Potential
buyers are not wanting to buy your problem. They are looking for a
solution to win! |
3rd...We
then spend the serious time it takes to make a winner on the pattern.
We try to be exact and consistent each time we ride. We want horses
to learn the "right way" and not learn any bad habits.
Many lifelong problems begin in the first 30 days of training. Sure,
almost anyone can take a horse around barrels, but that does not
mean they are giving the horse a foundation for a lifetime. Only
experience keys you in on very important basic fundamentals that
are essential. . |
